Roofing technology is always advancing. There seems to always be a better material to use when protecting your roof and ultimately your entire home. When mother nature lashes out, you shouldn't have to worry about your roof weathering the storm. At Roof Advance we offer Atlas Stormaster Shingles. They are designed to resist the harshest weather conditions including high wind, pounding rain, and destructive hail.
What are they?During the manufacturing process, the SBS bonds to ingredients in the asphalt, creating an elastic network that behaves like rubber allowing it to flex when impacted. In addition to impact- resistance, they also feature Scotchgard protector which helps prevent the appearance of black streaks caused by algae.
StormMaster shingles are:
- Strong, flexible, and durable
- Resistant to winds up to 130 mph
- Impact Resistant
- Water resistant
- Algae resistant
Why use them?1. Dry Roof Deck 2. Intact Underlayment 3. Atlas Starter shingles 4. flexible Shingles 5. Atlas Hip & Ridge Shingles
Not all shingles are created equal. Average asphalt shingles without impact resistance may break or fracture during a hailstorm, exposing the roof to moisture penetration. This allows water to soak the roof deck, causing wood rot and leaks inside your home. As you can see there are many advantages and improvements in shingle roofing technology. Atlas StormMaster shingles with UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating resist hail, leaving the underlayment, roof deck and home leak free. Please see the picture to the right.
